May 1st in Berlin
Some initial tests of our projection mapping project - what was hilarious and somewhat ironic was that while projecting on the building three kids on the street were arrested for graffiti by about 25 cops - they had no qualms with us. Inside we built some squares and rectangles, it’s gonna get crazier soon..
We went to a bbq at RadialSystem V, an artist venue that was formerly a sewage treatment plant. Bbq was lame but the space was really cool. The top deck was covered in spiders.
Last night we went out for an evening at the theater, the Berliner Ensemble. Robert Wilson and Rufus Wainwright’s collaboration on Shakespeare’s Sonnets was pretty incredible. Here is a video about it.
Beelitz Hospital is an old abandoned hospital on the edge of town near Potsdam. Full of creepy hallways, tunnels, underground chambers, and forest rooftops. All in all a pretty incredible place, looking to shoot some video here soon. We only saw about a quarter of the place, miles of stuff to see here.
